pellets

With the non commercial component from forest plantations and sawmills, we manufacture wood pellets through an industrial process.

Wood Pellets are small cylinders of dried and highly compressed grinded wood with uniformity on size, shape, humidity and heat power.

WHY NOT SIMPLY BURN LOGS OR WOOD CHIPS?

Pellets are easy to store and transport.
The uniformity in dimension and size makes them versatile when loading and storing.
For these purposes, they are basically bulk, easy to transport in trucks and ships, as well as when storing them.

When the pellets are burned, the same amount of carbon dioxide that was captured by the tree during its growth and maturation is released. No additional greenhouse gases are emitted, therefore a carbon neutral renewable cycle is generated.

Carbon monoxide, sulfuric acid, carbon dioxide and arsenic are some of the pollutants produced by non-renewable fossil sources used to generate energy and heat. The pellets burn in a more efficient and significantly less polluting way. They are 85% less polluting than fossil sources and comply with the strictest global emissions and pollution regulations.

The moisture content of the pellets is significantly lower than that of wood biomass in other forms. Pellets contain between 4% and 10% moisture, while biomass in other forms contains between 20% and 60%. Less humidity means more heat generation and ease of handling especially in winter conditions with low temperatures as occurs in the countries where customers are located, mainly Europe, Japan and South Korea.

BIOENA uses sawmill waste and non-commercial wood from forest plantations that would otherwise be left unattended or burned.

Pellets do not present the high risks of spillage and contamination that fossil fuels present. Pellet burners in large generation plants have the most efficient solid energy burners on the market, with the lowest particle emission levels.

wood chips

Wood chips are a material of irregular wood fragments, used as renewable fuel to generate energy in large boilers.

This type of generation is environmentally sustainable and reduces CO2 emissions.

For the production of our wood chips, we use forest plantations that have no other commercial use, which are at risk of deforestation to use this land for extensive cattle ranching. Our production of chips, with regrowth or replanting, allows these plantations to become productive forests, guaranteeing that they will be maintained in the long term.

Our chips are of high quality as they are produced 100% with pulp and do not contain bark, branches or leaves.
