The Plant

The Plant

Bioena’s industrial plant is strategically located in the lower basin of the Magdalena River, where there are more than 75,000 hectares of sustainable commercial forest plantations. There are also over 500,000 hectares suitable for forestry within a 250 km radius.

The plant is located near the ports of Barranquilla and Santa Marta, from where the exportations will be made.

Logistics

Suppliers send the raw material in trucks with trailers designed for transporting biomass. This biomass reaches our plant, where it is processed and transformed into pellets through a clean industrial process.

Once the raw material has been transformed into pellets, these are loaded onto trucks and are taken to the port. Then they are shipped in 30,000 ton vessels to power plants in different countries to replace coal.
